We’re glad you’ve got so many questions! Hopefully we can answer most of them below, but if not please reach out and we’d be more than happy to help.
The Space

We are located at 320 Wilson St, Revelstoke, BC V0E 2S0. (Inside the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre).

Absolutely! Contact us to arrange a time to tour the space.

Members can access the space whenever they would like once they have collected a FOB for the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre. If you would like to visit let us know and we can arrange a time.

The building entrance is on the left hand side of the building and requires a FOB. Once you’re a member of the IdeaFactory you must also purchase an annual membership to the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre which gains you 24/7 access to the space.

Entry to the building is via the side door - for courses there will be someone there to let you in.

Yes! The building is accessible to wheelchair users.

There is plenty of parking outside the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre.

We do not encourage the consumption of food in the space, but understand that people get hungry.

We love dogs too, but this space is too small to accommodate animals. Service dogs, of course, are the exception and are allowed in the space.

Yep. There is a bike rack located at the front of the building.
The Equipment

We have a large range of equipment from 3D printers to sewing machines. Check out the equipment tab in the page header for more details.

Yes, you do. Each make and model has its own specifications and idiosyncrasies.

No. You must be a member and complete the prerequisite tool training before you can use our equipment.

No. Our tools are free to use with a membership.

Yes we do. We charge $70 an hour (plus materials) for design and printing though our Hire-a-Maker service. If you have an idea you want to prototype, we’d love to hear from you - send us an email info@revelstokeideafactory.ca
Members & Non-Members

The lowest cost membership is $30 for a month, but we have longer memberships which offer long term savings. Checkout our memberships here.

Members must be at least 16 years of age. Parents/guardians are required to complete your membership waiver if you are under 19 years.

Yes! As long as you have a membership and they are at least 8 years old, you can bring kids up to the age of 15 for free, but they must be accompanied by an adult at all times and are not permitted to operate the equipment unassisted.

Members must undertake an induction to introduce you to the space and to make sure you know how to use the machines. Once you purchase a membership we’ll reach out to organise when you can book an induction.
Tidy lab = happy lab. Members are expected to clean the workspace after use and put reusable materials and tools back to their original location.
What you bring in, you bring out. There is no storage space at RIF. -
Late membership cancellation fee: Memberships cancelled after payments have been processed, will be subject to a 25% cancellation fee.
We do not offer refunds on single month memberships.

Yes, you can, but only one guest per member.

Unfortunately, no. This is a small space that we must keep clear of clutter for member safety.
Courses

We use Stripe for our point of sales (Visa and Mastercard). Unfortunately we cannot accept cash at this time.

Absolutely! In fact we offer a free month of membership with all of our classes!

Payments for classes are refundable up to 72 hours prior to the start time of the class, minus a $15 cancellation fee and Stripe processing fees (2.7% + C$0.05). After this time, refunds will not be issued. Refer to our Class Cancellation policy for details.
