Revelstoke Idea Factory Member Policy
These policies have been designed to ensure our members and staff can conduct their work effectively in a safe, clean and respectful environment. Abide by the Revelstoke Idea Factory (RIF) Code of Conduct and follow all directions of the RIF board members.
Violations may result in refusal of service and/or membership cancellation.
Safety
RIF contains tools that can cause serious bodily harm. All activities are taken at your own risk. Members/users may be harmed by the negligence of other people.
Personal entertainment devices with ear pieces cannot be used while using the equipment.
Don’t work in the lab if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Do not work while tired, distracted or upset. Those found under the influence of intoxicating substances will have their membership revoked.
We expect everyone to treat RIF and Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre (RVAC) members, staff, volunteers, and visitors with courtesy and respect. Abusive, discriminatory, harassing, or aggressive behaviour, including verbal or physical threats, harassment, bullying, theft, or vandalism, will not be tolerated.
Member Access
Select membership options on our website and enter payment details. Annual and monthly memberships are activated from the date of purchase.
If you are not already, become a member of the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre at $25/year, plus a refundable $20 key fob deposit.
No member may share their RVAC key fob with others.
Age Restrictions:
Children under age of 8 are not permitted into the space unless they are participating in an organized program.
Children between the ages of 8 and 15 can enter the space for free, but must be accompanied by an adult member at all times, unless they are participating in an organized program.
Youth between the ages of 16 and 18 can apply for a student membership, and can enter the space unaccompanied, but the membership waiver must be completed by the parent or guardian.
Clean Workspace
Taking care of your mess will ensure a safe and clean working environment for all.
Clean the workspace immediately after use and put reusable materials and tools back to their original location.

Food
Food is not to be consumed in the RIF Maker Space at any time. No exceptions.
Membership Cancellation
Membership cancellations must be completed online through the membership portal.
Storage
There is no space for storage - what you bring in you must take out.
Any materials left at RIF for over a month will be given away or thrown out. RIF takes no responsibility for a member’s lost, damaged or stolen property.
Members will be fined for dumping large items at RIF.
Dogs
With the exception of service animals, dogs are not allowed in the building.
