This one-evening introductory course provides a hands-on overview of 3D printing, designed for complete beginners with no prior experience. Participants will learn the basics of how 3D printers work, the different types of 3D printing technologies, and the materials commonly used.
The session covers the full 3D printing workflow—from creating or sourcing a digital model, to preparing a file for printing, to understanding the printing process itself. Attendees will be introduced to simple design tools, slicing software, and key printer settings, as well as common troubleshooting tips.
By the end of the course, participants will have a clear understanding of what 3D printing can be used for, how to get started independently, and how to safely operate a basic 3D printer. A live printer demonstration and example prints will be included.
Dates and prices for the course are still to be confirmed, and if there is significant interest then we will run multiple courses.
